Anaerobic Biodegradation

Anaerobic Biodegradation Technology is based on polymer material science and incorporates classical techniques from microbiology, biochemistry, electrochemistry, and traditional Chinese medicine. The anaerobic biodegradation formulation composite system designed by this Technology is embedded into the plastic material structure during the granulation process. This enables ordinary plastic to be completely converted into carbon dioxide, methane, ammonia, and a small amount of mineralized inorganic salts under anaerobic or oxygen-free conditions, without producing any microplastics.

Degradation Process

Step 1: Hydrolysis Fermentation

Step 2: Acidogenesis & Hydrogen Production

Step 3: Methane Production

Step 4: Energy Utilization

Advantages

  • 100% fully biodegradable and recyclable
The relative degradation rate is 100%+ over 3 years, with the final degradation products being carbon dioxide, methane, ammonia (if nitrogen is present), and a small amount of mineralized inorganic salts. No microplastics are produced.
  •  The overall cost is more than 50% lower.
Compared to conventional biodegradable materials on the market such as PLA, PBAT, and PHA, the overall cost is reduced by more than 50%.
  • Strong Physical Properties: high and low temperature resistance, excellent barrier properties, and high stability.
  • No extra equipment investment required.
The raw materials for production can be directly applied using traditional plastic manufacturing processes and equipments, requiring no additional investment. This results in low production investment costs.
  • Storage time is as long as 3 years.
ABT products have a longer shelf life and do not require specific storage conditions, resulting in lower storage costs.
  • Harmless to soil after degradation.
The final degradation products are carbon dioxide, methane, ammonia, and a small amount of mineralized inorganic salts. No microplastics are produced and there is no harm to the soil.
  • Compliant with standards ASTM D5511, ISO 15985 and GB/T 33797-2017
ABT technology complies with international degradation standards and represents a revolutionary new generation of eco-friendly materials technology.
  •  Wide range of application: anaerobic biodegradable PE/PP/PET/PVC/PA/EPS.
ABT is applicable to various plastic materials such as PE, PP, PET, PVC, PA, and EPS and is widely applied across industries including plastic packaging, disposable plastic consumer goods, agricultural products, hygiene products, medical supplies, and children’s toys.
